i just (1.5 hours ago) got back from a very distinctly non-date-ish dinner-and-a-movie. with aedan. it was fun; we went to sweetwater tavern and had i reallyreally good salmon-and-mashed-potatoes and twice as much toffee cake as i could actually eat, and then we went to fair oaks mall (or was it fair lakes? one of those, anyway) and wandered around killing time before the movie. and we stopped in a sam goody and i found sarah harmer - you were here, which i've wanted for a while (i've been listening to my illegal copies of her songs ever since i heard of her :) ). not only did they have it in stock, which was a bit of a miracle in itself, but it was on sale! $13! happy me. :)

and then we went back to the theatre and saw traffic... very good movie. very dark. benicio del toro is an amazing actor. and the ending was rather happy, comparatively, almost sappy. i wanted to be annoyed, but it was too good. :)

and so now i'm home and mother went to bed and i listened to the rest of my new cd and read my email... got a message from someone saying they could give me a lift to the portland fencing practices! go me! or them, i suppose.

gah, need to look up my roommate's name and email or call her... and i haven't started packing. ::sigh:: i'll need to send my schlager off fast.

raar. yay, sarah harmer. she's a cool chick. :)

'When Kamen wanted to erect a wind turbine on North Dumpling and the state of New York objected, he seceded from the US. Though the secession has never been officially recognized, he signed a nonaggression pact with his friend, then-President George Bush, and enlisted Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry's as "joint chiefs of ice cream." North Dumpling has its own flag, its own anthem, a one-ship navy, and its own currency. One bill, which Kamen carries in his wallet, is the value of pi. "You can't make change for it," he says with a grin. "It's a transcendental function." '

lol! ::wipes tears of laughter from eyes:: thanks, andy. that was great. :)

woke up late, went to school. got taco bell on the way there and discovered it tastes much better when it hasn't sat in a car for 45 minutes.
got to school when break started, said hi to the people i saw, which wasn't many... ate lunch. sat around pretending i didn't care that i didn't have anything to do. took kate to get food and film, came back, sat around and wasted time some more.
i finally found andy, and gave him his bear, and got a sandman book... :) i read some of the book (i'd read it before, when i had an hour or so to kill and sat down between the shelves in a bookstore in glasgow), and went back into the auditorium to watch hell week. people were panicking and/or being industrious, but andy'd gotten his glow and was dancing in the aisles.... i'm not sure he ever stopped being puck. ::smile:: it was wonderful to watch.
snagged a comfort once forgotten cd and gave $5 to vidya, and then left hell week and beauty in the auditorium and went home.

got dragged to choir, slept through most of it. had some yummy leftover toffee cake, and some of the new box of chai. i really should pack. i think i'll fold/sort clothes before i sleep.
