Apr. 2nd, 2001 12:52 ami guess i'm behind again, aren't i? well... i did stuff. and then i slept. and then i did nothing.
that was pretty much it. :)
c2 and kieth and i plotted to replace chris's confiscated-and-destroyed sword cane, and found an exact copy of it (except c2 got the black cane instead of the oak one. doofus.) and chris seemed to be very appreciative. this was on thursday, when black and white came (an hour earlier; both the game and the cane arrived while i was asleep and thus naked), and when chris got his laptop. happy boy.
we went to claim jumper some day or another, and the waiter ended up asking us how many bongs we would like.
went to baccano's (extremely fancy italian restaurant) and i wore my little black dress and we ate food that cost a lot. i had scallops that were practically as big as my fist. and there were cute girls at the table next to me being flirted with by the manager and given bottles of wine to test. it was very amusing.
and very yummy.
spend a lot of time watching chris play giants and black & white. it looked like he'd almost finished giants when we left for portland. he seemed to be enjoing the crushing. :) and i want a computer that will let me play black and white. spiffy game. :)
wandered around u district in the daylight for once... we had lunch in the thai-ger room and i wandered in all the little indian shops and would have been tempted to buy a coin scarf and jingly bracelet ($35) if i had spending money and the scarf material hadn't been rayon. the guy said that silk doesn't hold up very well.... i suspect he's thinking about a different weave of silk than i am. raw silk is strong stuff, i don't know about any other kinds.
we looked in the nifty gargoyles shop, which had all sorts of cool stuff. and then we had ice cream in the mix. they have 4 or so flavors of icecream, and all sorts of stuff that they can put in it. they take a scoop and chop it up and mix all the stuff in, hence the name. i had vanilla with junior mints and cookie dough and hershey's syrup. it was *good*. we stopped by there a night earlier and the place was packed. as we got inside, they announced that they'd run out of icecream, except for espresso and cheesecake, and were possibly going to close early.
then we went to metro. it's the type of store of which hot topic is a cheap knockoff. it was *fun*. i found a skirt that was all floofy around the bottom because there wasn't actually a hem - the fabric was sewn to the shorter lining. i've seen the effect before, and as soon as i have time ::koff::never::koff:: i wanna try making one. and i tried on a leatherwench type bodice - one of the really short ones. and it was pleather. and then i tried on a long pleather dress, lacing up the back, straps, practically a train in the back although that may just have been because it was made for someone who was 6' at least. i was talking about how dresses never fit right because they expect me to have 2" more between ribs and hips and between shoulders and breasts, at least. so it had creases across my stomach. and some random patron said as i was walking past, 'i think it looks good...' heehee. it was amusing. and not at all creepy, which it could have been.
there was a guy in metro who we'd seen all the way back in the gargoyle shop. he accused us of following him. :) he was neat, he had really good vampire fangs and a black trench coat. and he was black, and had the ends of his hair and goatee dyed red. it looked like it'd grown out. all in all a spiffy effect.
and then of course i left without buying anything. the dress was $135, or something to that effect.
erm, lessee, what else..... minnie's on crack. as is kieth. chris is always tired. it took me forever to get out of bed sunday morning, so we met ryan and liz for dinner instead of lunch. only they arrived 45 min late cause they got lost. it was pretty good though, the old spaghetti factory - 3 course meal for $8.
and my computer has memory! woohoo! now if only it had a hard drive....
