the show fuckin' rocked. i snapped my glowstick but it wasn't all that special... the actors were doing a really noisy warmup and i couldn't hear the song very well. oh, well. they had so much energy though.... the audience clapped after the first scene. clapped. and it was like that the whole way through. they were so incredibly on. and since gabrielle wasn't there to bitch at them, they let loose... colleen did her sexy pregnant lady, the policemen were russian... it was great.
(note: gabrielle is the director. yes, the director didn't show up for closing night.)

strike took an hour and three minutes. we were done before 11.30. of course, then we had to put up stuff for warren's show, but still. into the woods was finished by 1am, and we thought that was good...

and now i'm going to the cast party. hopefully i'll get there in time for when they all start kissing each other. :) it's going to feel like scotland going home, like walking back from the pub. only with less sheep and more light pollution. here's hoping i enjoy it. :)

during strike, i went into the green room and 'gypsy girl' from _she_ by saul williams came on the stereo. the girl whose cd (tape?) it was told me that danni, one of my friends, choreographed a piece for the dance extravaganza tomorrow to 'twice the first time'. *wow*. although apparently when people in dance found out she wanted to do it, they got all huffy because she wasn't black. so she talked to the bsu, figuring if they weren't offended, these white people had no right to be. the bsu said, 'so does this mean we're not allowed to do ballet?' woo. :) so now i have to go see the dance extravaganza. and download twice the first time.

right. time to walk to the cast party without getting lost. (almost wrote 'without getting drunk.' that won't be so hard, it'll be being at the cast party without getting drunk that might prove a bit more difficult.)

well, the cast party didn't *suck*... i danced mostly, which was fun. and sat, which was relaxing but less fun. didn't get drunk, didn't get tipsy, didn't get a secondhand high from all the pot being smoked outside. it was weird, when i was dancing... it pointed out exactly my problem with this show. every once in a while, i would realize that i was once again on the outside of the group, facing everyone's backs (and elbows), or that i was slowly being shoved into another person. there was no personal space going on - with other people, they'd joke and dance together or dance near each other. with me, it was as if i wasn't there. like i was invisible... if you walk with the crowd, you won't get run into, even if no one can see you. but you will get jostled, and edged out of the way... yeah.

and my shoulders are solid rock. i wish i'd manage to wheedle that backrub out of brad that he promised earlier. oh, well. speaking of brad, i think i may have contributed to his unhappiness... i actually asked him the 'player or nice guy' question. this was after i'd talked to him all the way to the zoo and most of the way back, so i knew he was pretty much a nice guy. but apparently he was laying it on thick during the party (i think he was also having fun with the pot and alcohol...) and was feeling bad about acting like a player.

blah. no more to say. want sleep, i'm so glad i don't have anything to do tomorrow until 7pm. my glow was dead by the end of the show. (that's 3 hours, for those of you keeping track. damn crappy glow.)

well, we had a hall meeting at 6. everyone else got a second voicemail and a postit note on their door. i only got the first voicemail, sent a week ago, saying the meeting was at 7.
but it wasn't at 7 because the housing lottery is at 7. and if caitlin hadn't said something about it, i wouldn't have known about that either. more fallout from not having received a housing packet. so maybe i'll get lucky and there'll be someone i know and don't dislike who doesn't already have a roommate. i have a good number for the lottery... too bad i don't know what any of the rooms are like, or which one i'd want.
i slept all day. it was good. i haven't been able to sleep without worrying about missing an appointment in almost a month. it's so relaxing.
saw boley (cast member) in the bon - he was working, swiped my card at the door. didn't say a word to me, even when i said hi.
ah, the oh-so-familiar sound of people i know walking past my [open] door and not saying a word to me. ::sigh::

housing lottery has ended. i had a good number, so i got a good room, i think: stewart 217, upper split. (the split is the section of hallway where stewart and odell meet.) rooming with celia, who i sort of know, and has nice enough taste in music. :) she's nowhere near as much of a night person as i am, so i'll have to convince my parents that a soft touch keyboard is necessary for school. and it will be, 'cause mwf my first class is after lunch.
right. this shouldn't be so bad. i'll have a decent roommate instead of an absent roommate, which will help my friendliness next year.

whoa. just remembered that celia was the person i picked for secret valentine. spooky. :)
