hrm. when did i last post?
i got everything packed in time to sleep for a few hours before putting away my bedding. unplugged my computer in the morning, which made me very sad. i was going to get up at 7.30 to finish packing and have jon help me lower my bed at 8.15, but i musta passed out and slept through my alarm or something, because i woke up at 8.30 to a note on the door that said tricia and jon had left and they hoped i had a good summer. d'oh. this was a problem because i needed to call cabel, who helped me with a lot of the box moving the night before, to wake him up... and the campus directory removed everyone's phone numbers at midnight. so i needed to get his phone number from jon.
it all worked out, though - amanda and davey helped me lower my bed, and cabel's number was on my redial. jason showed up around 9.30 and i started moving stuff out while he attempted to remove my hard drive. apparently compaqs are a bitch even at the level of taking them apart, not just in upgradeableness and performance. but he got it, i checked out, and we wrestled with the huge (19" monitor box) that i was sending home. it had to go in the front seat while i sat in the back.
we didn't get lost for once, which was good. however, when i lugged the box into the baggage check, it turned out that it was too heavy to count as baggage. :( it also turned out that it was possible to ship it on a pallet to dc, for much much cheaper than mailing it. :) 94 pound box, cost me $50. i still have to ship my rapier, though.
i got to seattle and settled down to wait for chris. i got there a little before 5, and figured i'd have to wait until he got off work. i called at 6 to see how soon i should expect him, and found out that he thought jason was driving me to seattle, not just to the train station. and he had to wait for steve and do house stuff. so i waited another hour. yay for books.
i think i've gotten a lot better at waiting. spending 2+ hours in the train station didn't bother me at all.
i gave chris a rose. a dead rose. :) it was really dark red, so when dried it looked purple, almost black. was pretty. and then as he went out the door, it smacked against the door frame and fell in two pieces. :( that's the way it always goes, i guess... i made it all the way here without even crunching a tiny bit of petal, and then it breaks. bah. the actual flower is still okay, though.
got here and took a nap. was good. then we went to denny's with patrick for dinner, i had a rather yummy reuben. the mix for dessert, which was yummy as ever.

on Saturday, we went all over town trying to find big boxes that chris could use to pack in, cause he's gotta be out of this house and into the other by Monday night. had a break in petsmart where i played with the ferrets. they were awake, all right. :) still too small to hold, but they'd figured out that with some scrambling they could get on top of things or in their hammock, which put them high enough in the cage that they could reach fingers stuck down through the top. they were sooooooooooooooooo cute.
and some lady had her own ferrets that she'd brought in for shots. they were cute too. one of them didn't really stand upright but sprawled out like a lizard. the other tried to climb up the inside of my pants leg. and there was a little puppy that was going to end up a big dog, and cats up for adoption. one of them looked like flicka.
we went to cedars, an amazing indian restaurant, for dinner. there were 15 people, i believe. and i don't *think* the staff hates us now... i had lamb korma. it was delicious, even if the sauce was so rich that i couldn't eat most of my rice, which had been saturated in it. and there was naan and some yummy green stuff to dip it in.
we came back here and played apples to apples afterwards, with c1, c2, aquaone, patrick, evan, and meena. twas muchly fun.
went to bed latelatelate after attempting to remove some of the rust from my sword. the blade is mostly clean, but the guard is still rather blackened. and the towel i was using is completely black.

today i get to pack. ...d'oh. :) helping chris pack to move to the mercer island house. it's not particularly stressful, though.

it's so nice.... i'm done with finals and moving out of the dorm, and not only that but i've still got a few more days before i have to go home! woohoo!

oh, and the package, which arrives at union station and not manassas, is a good excuse to go driving. and i've gotta find out what time and where fencing is this summer. i'll probably be working for cbsi again, but i'm not sure. hopefully, whatever happens, i will still like my family at least somewhat by the end of the summer.
and not only that but i get to leave a lot of the stuff in that huge box at home. iiiii'm getting rid of stuff. go me. :)

and now i put clothes on.
