Jun. 22nd, 2001 10:22 pmdid i mention that on Wednesday mom said we could go get food together, and when i met her at the metro, growlingly hungry, it turned out she was referring to frozen dinners from home? i've looked through the frozen dinners at home, and there's nothing i would consider 'appetizing'. so i ate some cherries, and picked at it, and was generally vaguely unhappy.
yesterday was just as boring as the day before. called marcellus on my break, apparently he got my email but was swamped with stuff and hadn't had a chance to respond to it until he got in to work that day. and i don't have internet access. so it's a good thing that i found his number. waited around after work for him, and attempted to avoid tom. he seems to have a lazy eye as well as his other interesting quirks, and he holds them wide open while he talks. rather disconcerting.
marcellus showed up, we went to the opera warehouse cause it was theoretically supposed to rain... vitha (who got the space for us) had to leave early, practically in tears, because her husband (who leaves tomorrow for national guard) was being immature at her. :(
eventually other people showed up, including magnus who stripped almost completely naked while changing into his gear... that man has no shame. and he hits on me a lot. marcellus brought belphoebe's gear (but not my doublet. i hope he remembers to bring it to baronial birthday) so i fought a lot of schlager, with her weapon (mine is still looking for a shipping package in seattle) and gorget (she's the only one with a neck near as small as mine, and i don't have a gorget yet). i didn't do too badly. my wrist is surprisingly stronger, though. that was nice. i was particularly proud of a double disengage that did it's job, even if i botched the riposte.
went to hops afterwards, where i had some really really good soup and a less good hamburger. i should have just gotten the larger portion of soup. went home with kristin, who is a very nice lady, although we had no idea how to get anywhere from hops, and turned off of south gleeb when we shouldn't have and ended up on 395. which wouldn't have been so bad, except it was 395 north. and the next exit was on the other side of the river, which is to say, in dc. we panicked for a while (she'd never driven in dc. i had. i'm not sure which of us was more nervous) and then i realized that the entrance to 66 was probably just on the other side of the monument... yay for landmarks. and there it was! very easy. we didn't even make any illegal turns. i think she was still a bit flustered though.
i got home at 11. that sucked. i would like to point out again how much i hate not having any free time, commuting, and getting up at 5.30am.
hm. to spare you an übermetapost, today will be next.
