Jul. 2nd, 2001 11:04 pmso i woke up this morning, realized it was a few minutes before my alarm was supposed to go off and started waking up. then i heard my alarm and turned it off. then i went to the bathroom, noticing that my watch seemed to have gotten off somehow. then i went back to my alarm clock and realized that my watch was correct, and it was almost an hour after i was supposed to have gotten up. oops. looked around for the work number, couldn't find it, went back to sleep. woke up at 8 when joe called to let me know that he'd stopped by but i didn't come out, and that if i wanted he could come back and get me. wow. i was impressed. and my dad was worried that he wouldn't go to work some day and not warn me. i told him i was sick and if he could let my boss know i'd appreciate it. and then i went back to sleep until around 5.
it's been a good day. :) got my brush back from jilly, and then went to sarah's house to get my hairsticks back and have dinner. we made stroganoff, and sort of almost followed the recipe. i'm bad at measuring things. :) and it didn't have any herbs or spices in it, so i decided which ones myself. ended up with paprika and ginger, and i think a little coriander. not sure what else. and i caramelized the onions first, even though i didn't have a recipe for it. but it was very yummy. and mr kendall made avgolemono soup, which was also very yummy. unfortunately, i hadn't eaten all day before then, so it took my stomach a while to get used to the idea. which is part of why i put ginger in the stroganoff. mr kendall noticed and complimented me on it. :)
so yes. lots of sleep, no work, yummy food, people. all in all a good day. and i have stroganoff for lunch tomorrow.
i should have done sewing today, but i didn't. oh well.
lessee, stuff i'll be doing:
buying tickets to indigo girls and great big sea
stuff with cap tomorrow
work day for pennsic on the 4th
party at nell's on the 4th.
something with kate on the 14th? or was it another day?
am i doing something this weekend?
