slept in today, it felt very nice... i always have much more vivid dreams when i sleep in. not that i remember them *now*, but still. sat around for a long time and then took a shower, so i didn't leave until 4 as opposed to 2. and then i got horribly lost trying to get to vitha's. the back roads may be in more of a straight line in general, but in specific, they curve all over the place, and turn into other roads when you're not expecting it. but i got there eventually, sewed the clasp on my skirt and mended the gore of my dress. still haven't fixed my fencing pants, and i keep putting off finishing the neck and cuffs, cause i know it'll suck. i really need to get cracking, though - 6 things to make in the next 5 weeks, and i have no time at all.
i left around 8 although i wanted to watch rush hour, because the rain was making the crappy cable do its crappy thing and i couldn't watch it anyway. it was pissing down rain at this point, and i rolled up my jeans and walked barefoot to my car. where i discovered that nell's address had disappeared. i hoped i'd be able to tell what house it is, so i drove out there anyway, getting minorly lost one more time and attempting to drive without being able to see the road. got to her street and discovered that there weren't any houses appearing to have parties, and no visible house numbers. so i gave up and went home.
it's a shame, too... i was hoping to see some people. as much as i like scadians, they aren't the same as troupies. they're older, for one thing, and less universally physical. or not physical without being sexual, and this group wasn't even sexual. so yeah.

saw an ad for a jackie chan marathon on some station or another at 8pm on Saturday, and though of andy. that'd be fun to watch with him.

i think ani's line, 'i don't need anyone to hold me, i can hold my own' is partially a response to being expected to need people due solely to being female, and partially wishful thinking.

antonio mor does really neat paintings. renaissance portraits, only the faces he paints are very distinctive and expressive, as opposed to the vaguely differentiated faces usually seen.

this is a bad scan of elizabeth of valois, queen of spain. i like her nose. :)
