Jan. 21st, 2002 05:37 pmheh. i got an email from the college cto (i didn't realize they actually existed) about how file sharing programs are sucking up bandwidth. apparently they're not going to ban them, but if the college gets contacted with a copyright violation notice because of a file of yours, they'll let you know and ask you to remove the file.
... i think i like this solution much better than most other colleges'. also, i have a feeling that the cto has an account on one or more of those services himself. :)
classes were okay, if early. steven weeks will probably annoy me, but the material (renaissance drama) sounds interesting. social theory is going to kick my ass and eat me alive, but bob goldman is really cool. two more classes to go, and one attempt to switch.
i have 14 books to buy for three classes. meh. total of 203.45, assuming the used versions are still there when i go to buy them. and assuming i don't get into the methods class.
celia gave me a scarf. it's short and narrow and stiff, but it's also soft and thick and pretty colored. works for me. :)
chris, i think i may have left my scarf in your apartment. by the time you get back, i'll either have found it or gotten a cold.
dad still claims the problem with the hard drive is either with the ide cable or the jumpers, but he admits that the bios is a piece of crap, and says he'll look into other solutions.
i deleted a bunch of my favorites - spent two hours going through, removing bad ones, and sorting good ones, and i'm only about a sixth of the way through - and now i have less space than i had before. i don't understand. :P
