Feb. 5th, 2002 11:12 pmmedia watch went well in japanese culture. i talked about how the prime minister sacked the (first female) foreign minister last week because she was too controversial and kept getting in arguments. he then dropped from 70% popularity to a little under 50%. bad move.
spent a shitload on grocery shopping. i got an ink cartridge, replaced the photon batteries, replaced my watch battery (it lost over two hours today) and found out that i can get the band resized if i go back earlier in the day, got detergent, pastaroni, and snacks. i had to go to the fred meyer four miles away for the watch battery. that place is huge. i got lost.
buffy was eh but ended decently (similar to angel, which was eh but improved in the second half), and then i watched the second half of jin-roh. haven't seen the first half. it's rather confusing to me because of that. but what i saw was good. so many languages, though - it's in japanese, with both french and english subtitles, and there's a lot of german words interspersed.
now i have to read 'desdemona' by paula vogel and do a writing assignment on it. also i have to read foucault. also, i should read the webct posts since i haven't been and i'm supposed to have posted 8 times already. oops.
so much stuff to do. maybe i'll ask steven to write me a professional recommendation. there aren't really many people i can ask. don't want to ask my last boss. erick is overworked and can't do it. my advisor doesn't know me very well. ...and that's about it. still haven't heard back from billie.
cover letter, resume, gab proposal, class reading, webct, blah. want to have a week or two to catch up before new stuff is assigned.
