i don't suppose i know anyone who lives in pennsylvania, do i? or someone who will feel like visiting pittsburgh during the first week of pennsic?

i'm trying to find a way to get from pennsic (slippery rock, pa) to pittsburgh and back between august 8 and 11. there aren't any nearby busses or trains, and i won't have a car. ideas? volunteers?

so i probably have a job at jo-ann fabric - they apparently are in desperate need of an employee who can sew. they'll be calling me when they get the rest of the forms i need to fill out.

i'll be giving a resume to taboret art supply / cramer's music, and turning in the borders application, and maybe stopping by b&n to see if i can keep my application from falling into a black whole this time around. mckays! mustn't forget mckays.

also i should go to giant tomorrow and get more ravioli. fred meyer is nice and all, but i really missed having giant when i was in portland. not least because the one by my house here is open 24hrs/day, which nothing in portland (or at least near lc) is.

i'm hoping to end up with two part time jobs, since i don't think jo-ann's is going to hire me full time, and probably won't pay that much anyway. i think i'd like working the closing shift at borders - reshelving books is mindless work that would make me happy.

i'm going to try to make vichyssoise tomorrow. maybe. i'll try to get around to it, at least. dunno if dad will be home before i need to leave for fencing, though. maybe it'll rain again tomorrow.
