so i'm moved in. still missing a few boxes because keith has to get them out for me - i don't have my winter clothes, the stand my monitor sits on, or the stand for my laundry bag. the furniture is all new and nice - sturdy but light. if i feel like buying new sheets, i'll push the beds together so i don't fall off when i roll over.

ra just came by and let me take the boxes - one of mine, one of keith's. it's nice to have someone who knows when rules are just annoying. so now my monitor is up higher and i don't have to slouch as much to see it. i'm getting glare off the windows as always, though.
the box had the computer stand, random unimportant computer stuff - anyone want a pair of badly shielded but otherwise fully functional speakers? they had a habit of picking up radio stations, at least in my old room. sweaters and food. yay, food. now i want macaroni and cheese. dinner starts in 20 minutes.

dance was this morning. it seems like it'll be good. we have to write a short paper and ten journal entries. that's less than one assignment a week, so i'm happy. i'm writing my paper on matthew bourne's swan lake. because it's not a live performance it has to be a longer paper, and i'll need to see a traditional swan lake so i know what he changed, but still.

thesis class with a cute teacher who just finished her dissertation at pittsburgh - i guess they substituted her for linda angst because both of them do japan. not sure what happened to linda, though. so i have to start writing in october, and turn in a 50 page draft by november. woo. at least i know what i'm writing about and find it interesting. i'll have to go back through my interviews and figure out what other topics i had. need to talk to brad and see if he's got copies/records of all the articles about livejournal, in case any of them say anything relevant.

the first book we're reading for advertising is john berger's ways of seeing, which i'm pretty sure i sold back for about $5 less than i bought it for. dammit. 3 hours of class per day, 4.5 on wednesday and thursday, and 1.5 on friday. not bad. still have to figure out

kieth helped me move stuff and drove me down here. after hiking around at nana's in his sneakers and then doing ogre duty moving all my stuff, his knee was thoroughly fucked. i killed my left forearm trying to make it loosen up. there were many kieth/keith jokes when the other one stopped by, and we drove him home from fred meyer as well.
i got a bookshelf for $9 at fred meyer. particle board, but it'll do. the new furniture is nice and all but there are no bookshelves. i forgot to get soap at fred meyer, though. and i think there was something else - poster hangers? that was it. i'm about half unpacked which means i have no room to move.

kieth left his massage oil and jellybellys here, so now he has to come visit again. hah. i doubt he minds - he likes the scenery around here, both moving and stationary. apparently something about my grandfather's old study spooked him when he was looking around.

this is an incredibly random post. i apologize to those of you who expected organization and coherence.

need to talk to david about fencing stuff. the activities fair is on the 12th so i have to have at least some of my shit together by then. also the techlab meeting is on the 9th.

must get food. am currently making voodoolimbo blush, which is fun but not nourishing.
