mother's graduation was very churchy. rebecca and i whispered about the interesting/silly things they could have done to their hats, but alas, no one had any silly visual jokes at all. i was thinking manger scenes, rebecca was thinking favorite obscure bible verses. or possibly (although i don't think it was a large enough graduating class for this) the entire new testament. or maybe martyrdom dioramas, those could be fun.

back from the store with sweet, sweet allergy medication. without fail, everytime i step outside (or in extreme cases, spend too long near an open door), i sneeze pretty much continuously, and my right sinus overflows with mucus. once i've had three sets of sneezes in a row, things start itching so much that my right eye tears all down my face. makes me want to claw my eyes out and torch every tree in sight.

i realized that i haven't talked about the last two fencing practices i went to. the first was the last lc fencing practice, in which we practiced in and outside of tamarack because a) we were storing our stuff up there instead of in the gym, b) there was a bad band attempting to play by the gym and c) we'd much rather lug stuff before we got tired. also it was attempting to rain. we actually had a bunch of people there, 3 people who had only been once before, and a girl who was passing by and got dragged in by stephen. she'd only ever done kendo before, but she didn't have a problem trying to do katana cuts on people because the one handed grip instead of two handed meant that her muscle memory wasn't kicking in.

the most recent practice was a ponte alto practice. i got sylvie to drive me, which she did because even though her knees hated her and she couldn't fence, at least she was getting out of the house. i fenced catalina and marcellus and belphoebe and someone else but i can't remember who it was. and a bear pit. i got thrashed much less thoroughly than i expected, although it was obvious that marcellus was toning it down for me. fancy that, i guess drills do help. :) if i could just find a tennis ball, i could do point control drills and then i'd have the whole set. although i can't do box drills on my own. got a nice bruise on the inside of my knee, and a sore spot in my cleavage, but other than that i emerged relatively unscathed. i wonder if it was a fluke, or if i've actually learned how to defend my arms - my bruises used to all be on my biceps.

geh. the pollen i picked up from walking from the car to the house kicked in at the beginning of the previous paragraph. hands keep twitching because i want to claw my sinuses out. at least i'm okay inside, and i can still think while i'm itching. i think this is worse than previous years, though.

dentist appointment wednesday - fill a cavity, get impressions for crowns. fencing thursday. dammit, haven't called school districts yet, i suck. i spent today and yesterday fiddling with bender tent designs - i'll probably pick up some pvc on wednesday to experiment with. the tent won't be made until at least next year, if not the year after, considering that i'll be buying at least $300 of canvas, but still. i like designing. :) it'll have an awning!
