Apr. 8th, 2004 01:20 pmyeah, i know i never update. and i had stuff i was going to say, too, but i either forgot it, or told someone about it in an email and *then* forgot it.
making progress on the con costumes, although it's been slow. most of the construction is done on the da qiao jacket, just have the sleeves, finishing trim and painting/sewing the foofy stuff on left to do.
hokage is mostly designed, but i need to get more fabric for it - i cut the fabric for the robe out and then discovered it didn't fit right and the fabric was scratchy. so i got a pattern and i think i'm going to get some red linen and dump it in the dryer till it softens up, and hopefully that'll work. the hat is designed, now we just need to find a jig saw and a staple gun and see if i can actually make a hat out of a nice theory.
i have the fabric for inu yasha, but i'm considering chucking it and going with linen for that too, since the fabric i have doesn't look rough enough. still have to measure the yasha pants, but i think i have the jacket cut. might buy a gi top to go with this and zhuge if i get too fed up with fixing the shirt i cut out and then discovered didn't fit right.
if anyone knows how to do chinese calligraphy, preferably grass script (or knows someone who does), feel free to give me a calligraphy version of any of these characters, in a vaguely circular shape:
喬 (qiao, the character's name)
媛 (yuan, beauty - what she was known for)
孫 (sun, her husband's surname)
being an angsty stress monkey. doctor's appointment on friday, mom says to ask for a blood sugar test because "angsty stress monkey" is a symptom of unbalanced blood sugar. whee.
