is there a way to make a foofy font load on a webpage even if the font is not on the viewer's machine?

so i discovered a rather funny not-good thing yesterday.

i went out to see which of my plants had survived my winter neglect (answer: rosemary, lavender, parsley, some thyme, and a carrot) and realized that i hadn't been very careful either when i was planting or when i was dealing with plants that had gone to seed.

the balcony carpeting is growing watercress and coriander.
