So I got my new shoes, and there's only one problem: since they're dressy shoes, they're made to look good, not feel good. Plenty of room in the toe box or I'd be sending them back, but it feels like wearing clogs on concrete. And I don't mean Danskos or Crocs, I mean KLOMPEN.

No problem, you say, just put an insole in! Okay, well there's one problem: while they're nice and roomy in the toe, and a wee bit roomy in the heel, they are snug over the arch. As in, no extra room - so whatever padding I put in can't raise my arch, or my feet will go numb.

So, what do I do? Get a heel cup and metatarsal cushion and let my arches flatten a little? Prioritize one end of the foot?

I can't just wear comfier shoes - when these shoes are what I want, nothing else will do. To be fair, I wear comfy shoes all but about 4 days out of the year.
