i had so much fun at practice! we did a bear pit for a while (a whole bunch of people, next person in line steps in when one of the two fighting dies), and i lost my right arm and decided to fight left handed dagger instead. against bephoeb, who decided it looked like fun. and switched to her left hand, which i pretended to be insulted by, so i took her arm. :) and then she killed me, but still. see, if you're fighting someone of less skill than you, you'll voluntarily lose a weapon or a limb to make the fight more fair. and belphoeb switched to dagger, which wasn't so bad, cause she *is* better than me, but dammit she didn't have to switch to her bad hand too! :)
and she marshalled one of the melees, so i borrowed her epee and tried case (an epee in each hand) for the first time ever... and won! it was so cool! i killed kevin of thornbury twice (big guy, queen's guard). :) and was about to kill him again when it started thundering. (no really, i was about to kill him! ...er, unless he was about to kill me. i can't remember. :) )
someone from my church said they were going to practice, but they never showed up. and charlene went to the catacombs until late and didn't go to practice. and tatiana never showed up. luckily, belphoeb was still relishing her child-freeness, and took me home.
it turns out my dad had to be in dc at 2.45 and didn't think that was relevant to the transportation problem. ::rolls eyes:: but he drove me there. meaning i didn't take my mom's car, so i can go to the lochmere practice, provided i get enough packed.
there was a newbie there today, and i fought him and marcellus gave pointers. and he was apparently incapable of holding his sword so you couldn't see his forearm, and it was *right there* and how could i not aim for it? only i kept missing. it was really infuriating. i always hit it eventually, so he was frustrated cause he had to keep fighting left handed, and i was frustrated cause it took me so long to take his arm. but eventually i started getting it faster. it was funny, the first time, he put his sword in his left hand and said, "ah ha, but you see, *i* am not left handed!" and i looked at him, and looked at the sword, and said, "well, i guess it sucks to be you, eh?" and we all laughed.

whee, fencing. :) and i even found practices in scotland and got in touch with people!
