i have nummy soup! mmm..... chicken and rice. very explosive. or at least the carrots were. :) i didn't have anything to cover it with, either, so i had to wipe out the microwave afterwards. said microwave, btw, makes a sound like a smoke detector going off (loud grating buzz) once it gets below 15 seconds. i'm not sure what its deal is.

i'm still cheerful. this is good. being happy makes being sick much more bearable.

gah. you've got half of the bisexual community (in general) trying to get rid of the stereotypes that bisexuals are sluts and can't help but cheat on whatever gender they're dating with the other gender. and then there's the vocal half of the lj bisexual community (or maybe 2/3rds), gushing about how much they love their boyfriends, but they really wanna have sex with this hot girl.

::sigh:: why do all the noisy obnoxious people end up being the stereotypes applied to everyone? why can't the *nice* people be stereotypes? (i mean, other than canadians.)

yup, 3 hours after my last pill, i wake up. it was a little after 6. i considered staying awake to watch the sunrise, but when it took more than 10 minutes, i gave up. mostly because i was still sleepy, but also because sitting up in bed made me shiver. i put my socks on before i went back to sleep, and now i'm fine.

because of the congestion, i wake up hearing myself breathe, and sometimes i hear it in my dreams, too. it's either a whistle or the purr of a quiet engine. not too healthy, i know, but i'm counting it good that i can breathe at all. kicking my jaw forward to give myself more room to breathe is going to take its toll, though.

while it's cool having my own schedule, it's going to be nice being able to sleep through the night again.

overeducated mothers are useful sometimes. :)

"Phallus is more like an anthropological term - referring to symbolic, cultic depictions, as opposed to anatomical. I imagine anthropologists have one for vagina as well, although from what little I know, the female symbolic figure is usually more a "Venus" - whole body, or at least whole torso. The phallus would be the masculine symbol of life, while the feminine symbol is not the vagina but the pregnant abdomen. It makes sense, if you consider that the issue is not the sex act for its own sake but reproduction: virility (male - having to do with life, not maleness - the Latin word "vir" means man but can also refer to life) and fecundity (female - again referring to life). The life-referring symbols come from an earlier, primitive time, when survival and reproduction were virtually synonymous."

basically it's a false comparison - the word refers to fertility, not to genitalia.

wow. i've been drifting off since i woke up at 11, so i decided to look up codeine on the net and figure out what the side effects are. turns out what i have isn't codeine at all. it's hydrocodone with acetaminophen. which is to say, vicodin. no wonder it works.
