i got 'the talk'.

no no, not the sex talk. already had that one, and i don't think it went quite the way dad wanted it to. this was the livejournal talk. they did their every-few-months catch up and realized that i wasn't particularly happy.
i think things should get better... once i'm not scared of dad's car, if i get up early, i'll be able to use it. i'm not required to go to church. i'm requested, but not required.
not all that much has changed, except that my parents know i'm not happy and are willing to make changes. that helps.

and it was pointed out to me that the people who bought me the stereo read about me selling it... ::bangs head on keyboard:: it's not that i didn't appreciate it. it was a great gift, one that i asked for and used. but my priorities changed and i'm trying to get rid of things that i can use something else for - for instance, i have very few tapes, and usually play cds on my regular cd player or in my computer. and i don't have space for the stereo, and can't justify keeping it around. i'm not an ungrateful wretch of a niece, though, i promise. really.

er... yah. i guess that's it. i'm on brad's friends list! one fewer blue arrow, i'm so proud. ::grin::

must get up early tomorrow to make crepes before going to a craft show with aunt becca. mm, crepes. yay, rebecca. boo, early.

i got invited to the reston craft fair by aunt becca, so we did that today. mom wanted a family breakfast, but settled for later since i wasn't leaving till one. 'that's still a breakfast,' i said. :) she wanted pancakes, i wanted swedish pancakes, so instead i made crepes. verrrry yummy. we have a cheater pan - it's got a rounded bottom, which is actually the top. you heat it upside down, dip the pan in the batter, and cook it upside down. the crepes cook on the outside of the pan. very nifty. and they turned out great because i accidentally used bread flour instead of regular flour.
so then i went to the craft fair. lots of fun. there was some interesting stuff, made more interesting cause i like spending time with rebecca. she was wearing a necklace that she'd bought at an earlier craft fair, and people kept complimenting her, and some of them even knew who the artist was. 'i've never had so many people staring at my chest before,' she said.
and we bought sweet potato fries for joel, cause he likes them. that was fun. then we raced home (heh) in time to see the preakness. rebecca wanted some horse to win who didn't do very well at all, but it was still kinda neat.

and now i'm bored. ::twiddles thumbs:: but i got an actual email from troy! ::shock:: i guess he crawled back up over the edge of the world, off which he'd fallen earlier.

which reminds me, need to send in that damn pennsic form. and i got my paycheck, happy me has money again. for a while. :)

oh, yeah, and the other day i put mom's lute into the car, because i was going to replace the broken string. she found it in the trunk later, and rather miffedly said, 'what is my lute doing in the trunk?' i said,' i was going to get a new string and surprise you with it for mother's day, but the store i went to didn't know what string to put on or how to string it,' vaguely dejected. and she went, 'awwwww...' ::grin:: but i went to music and arts, found out mark was working there (and he was nice to me. interesting.), and got a new string put on. mom was very happy that i'd thought of it.
