May. 20th, 2001 10:34 pmit's my parents' anniversary.
didn't get to sleep until 3 last night, after waiting for my parents to be done in the shower (one at a time, andy!) which didn't happen till after 2.
slept 'till noon, verra nice. i got all my stuff together for fencing, but it was raining. i figured i'd go anyway - see if it was just a local rain. it wasn't. so i stopped in at trader joe's which is next to fencing practice, and saw marcellus and belphoebe there. :) apparently they'd had the same idea as me. got chai, cheaper than at fresh fields, and chocolate chip meringues, yummy. then i headed back. the exit and the sign thereto are hidden behind a very large tree. you don't see it until you're driving past. so i turned around and went back the other way, which took forever - i think there was an accident, or at least a hella lot of traffic. i saw a flashingly lit police car.
stopped by petco on the way home and played with the vast amount of ferrets they had. there were at least nine. and then the employee had to close the cage and go away, and the ferrets started chewing on each other. one bit another one really hard on the nose, made the second one squeal loudly. meh. :( but they were still cute. very small, lots of them. the size of the ones at the bellview petco when they were too young to hold.
then i went to the fabric store. i was looking for 'blackwork' trim, didn't find any, looked for linen, didn't find any of that either. then i realized that it was minnesota (if that's still what it is) where i found the trim and good fabric, not jo-ann. so i'll have to go there.
went to the mall, stopped by that wig shop hoping they'd know about where i could sell my hair, but she said to call back when the manager's here. so i'll do that.
do you know, that in 3 stores (walmart, hechts, and jc penny), i found exactly 2 black cotton, unpadded underwire bras? grr. there were some heavily padded cotton ones, and plenty of icky synthetic ones that had all the other characteristics, but just 2 that had all of them. and one of them was the same as the bra i was replacing. works fine for me.
just another example of how clothing manufacturers don't really make clothing that works for everyone's. bras are all bits of froth meant to enhance, pants are meant for tall people. hmph.
got back from that just in time for choir practice. after finding out that papp's working at auntie em's.
er, right. got to the church just before shauna. stood there waiting for her to run into my arms, but she didn't oblige. she doesn't love me any more. ::sniff:: ::wipes away a tear:: ended up sitting right in front of shauna, who was sitting next to my mother. arranged seating, don'tcha know.
i was sightreading the whole time. never heard any of the piece (vivaldi gloria) before, so i was completely lost the first time, getting it the second time, and having no trouble the third.
and *then*.... we got takeout from bombay garden. *very* yummy. we didn't have a menu, so i drove over there and talked with the manager while they made stuff i thought everyone would like. it was fun. cedars has better lamb korma, though. mom got a yummy chicken and spinach thing. and i got indian lemonade (rose syrup instead of sugar) while i waited. :) mmm.
so yeah. that was my day. sorry for another longwinded post... maybe i should learn to use lj-cut someday...
so yeah, now my tasks (the ones i want to do at least) are all sca related - garb related, actually.
speaking of which, chris, lemme know when you can send my rapier, eh?
okay, now i'm done.
