today was better than usual. i finished my dress last night, got to bed just before 2. usually i get to work and nap a little until sam comes in, at which point someone kicks me and i wake up. well, sam was late. really late. i woke up just before break, at 10. sam showed up after break. but getting another hour and a half of sleep was very, very nice. i was much more alert and happy.
yes, i know... but going to bed earlier isn't much of an option. if i did that, i would get *nothing* done at home. it takes me a while to get around to doing stuff, because i work best between 11pm-2am. and i really need to get sewing done. and yes, i know i'm wasting time on the computer, but i'm also working on the fencing shirt pattern.

it was very northwestern today. grey and overcast and sort of raining, but sort of not. everything was misty and pretty. everyone else felt dreary, but it made me happy.

michen complained about being cold today. apparently she's always cold. this is a good thing, because between the two of us, we can turn off the air conditioners (there are two of them) and guard them from anyone who should be living in alaska.

the way ruchi moves to her music (rap) reminds me of the motions a cat goes through when it's trying to throw up. once i realized that, i couldn't look at her anymore for fear i'd start laughing out loud.

i was going to go to ihop for lunch today, so i didn't bring anything. then i found out (at lunch time) that joe was canceling because he'd made plans with amy. i think it's just because amy flirts with him more. but yeah, and i didn't have any money - i was planning on paying by credit card, and paying joe back for one of the lunches he's bought me. so i didn't eat.

tina and larry and owen were arguing about whether it's more offensive to refer to a female as a girl or a male as a boy. tina was getting all offended about it, because larry and owen were talking about a girl. but the 'conversation' was started because tina made a snarky comment to owen, something like, 'get out of my way, boy,' said as derisively as possible.
she's the oldest temp, and quite possibly the least mature.
it got rather heated, while david weidner (a higher-up) was in the room talking to sam. bad idea. when we came back from break, one of sam's bosses was talking to him about the argument and why it got so heated. which sparked another 'conversation' between tina and wede, where tina refused to admit she was wrong about anything and they got louder and louder, until they were both yelling at each other to grow up and shut up. during which time ade came in, who is (i think) on a level with david weidner. lydece and cindy were both trying to get them to be quiet, but it didn't do anything. and ade had a 'talk' with tina and wede. :P
if wede'd just shut up... tina was worked up enough that she would have kept talking, and since her talking was reduced mostly to insults, wede would have come out clean (which she was, mostly) and all the blame would have fallen on tina (where it belonged, mostly).
ruchi was talking to tina after she got back from ade's office, giving her advice on how to shift blame if it came up again - if anyone accuses her of stuff (like sexually harrassing owen, which is putting it strongly but not untrue), she should just say it's because they don't like her.

ecch.

but despite that, i'm still doing pretty good. it helped that i had nothing whatsoever to do with the argument.

i want to cut the shirt pieces tonight.
