things to figure out how to do in an lj style: show all usericons, not just ones on my friends page. have the column of posts on the right, with the little box on the left. have spaces between posts (ie post on post background color, with page background between posts), have a 'previous n' at both the top and bottom of the page... hm. sounds like either i've got to find someone who's bored and talented, or learn html. which i was going to learn anyway, but still. or is lj done in bml? i confuse myself with my just-barely-not-ignorance.

heh. sooo tired. but i got all the gold pieces cut. it's going to be absolutely gorgeous when it's done. i don't think i'll need to do much fitting, based on how the half of it i've pinned together drapes. not enough fabric for the cap sleeves, so both outside and lining of that will be lavender. the inside of that doesn't show anyway, so it's all good...

i love this fabric. it's so gorgeous. gold threads one direction, with purplish red threads the other direction, but they don't show, just kinda make the fabric look coppery. i miscut one sleeve, which means i didn't have enough room to have a selvedge on the gore. but other than that (and having to line the cap sleeves with extra lavender), i haven't screwed up yet. i'm sure i'll screw up the points of the gores or something, just because i found thread that's almost an exact match. murphy's sewing corollary, you know - the better the thread matches the fabric, the more seams you'll need to rip out.

maybe i'll be able to work straight through Friday night until fencing on Sunday. somehow i doubt it. :P i need to get to fmj on Saturday and hope that they haven't already sold my pants.

i'll be packing all day Friday until i leave, which means my sewing has to be done before then... the turban will take me 30 minutes max, and that's only if i have to finish all the edges instead of making someone with a serger do it. the blanket will take about the same cause of cutting and sewing and attaching the pocket, and finding something to tie it with. the chemise for the yeleks will probably take 2-3 hours. not sure what i'm going to do about the gypsy chemise... i'll see if i've got enough of that linen/cotton for it. it'll take me a while, though. 5 hours? not as many as the shirt, i hope. what else did i need to do? i should get a sash. i'm sure there's appropriate fabric around somewhere, and it doesn't need to look pretty. that's about 9-11 hours.

the yeleks, however, will take bloody forever. sew the gold tomorrow, maybe cut the lavender, have the lavender sewn before i get up Sunday, maybe even have the entire thing sewn together. i'll have to figure out how i'm doing button loops first, though, so i can sew down the cord if i need to. then i'll have to do the entire thing over again with the green yelek. ::sigh:: i really hope i can have all the yelek pieces at least pinned together by the end of the weekend.

i should go to sleep before i die.

i went to work again today. eh. i finished making all my gold buttons, though. near the end, noela and wede and michen got in a heated discussion with lydece about being analytical vs being judgmental. lydece displayed a typical view - she accused people of not listening to her, but they were listening. i can only assume that the reason she thought they weren't was because they kept not agreeing with her, and obviously if they'd been listening, they'd agree. also she did the, 'you only think that because you're less mature than me' thing. i kept out of the conversation mostly, because even if i were to get a word in edgewise, she wouldn't listen. so i confined myself to pointed, occasionally snarky comments that usually at least one other person heard, and expanded on for me. geez. once we pointed out flaws in what lydece was doing and saying, she took it personally. if she pointed out flaws in our arguments, that was all she was doing, but if we did the same thing, we were just being mean. ::rolls eyes:: wede saying, 'i hate gossip, and i never do it' made me laugh, though. riiiight.

got home, went to walmart for pennsic supplies, and giant, and the library to drop off my overdue book. at hancock fabric (where i bought button kits for the lavender buttons), i found (on sale) the rest of the bolt that the gypsy chemise came from. i think. so i bought a yard of that and some black fabric for a sash, so i can lengthen the gypsy chemise now.

i'm going to barnes and noble tonight, to exchange a cd. the amazon cd came yesterday, and the postage for returning it came today. i like amazon. the cd was supposed to get here by august 3 at the earliest. i'm impressed.

so i got one solar shower, might need to get another one. i'll have to wet my hair before i use the shower, but i don't know if it'll take more than 5 gallons to rinse my hair twice... hm. got a flashlight, and glowsticks! walmart sells glow! ::grin::

tomorrow i'm going to vitha's to sew, cause i'll probably get more done than i will here, and she has a serger for the sashes and the turban. i'll sew the gold together tonight, and hopefully cut the lavender. i can work on the yeleks tomorrow, and the turban, and lengthen the gypsy chemise. gah, so much stuff. oh, and i have to go to alexandria to pick up my pants at fmj, before going to vitha's house, in ft belvoir. and i might go to the farmer's market, too.

i want to have chai and milk and chocolate and olives for foodstuffs at pennsic. i'll get the chai on Sunday, i'll probably just buy the milk at the cooper's store, but giant didn't have any fancy olives, so i'll have to go looking. i got some green tea for awakeness. goood caffeine.

it'll be great once i'm there. it's the getting there in the first place that will be trouble. but i think i can get this done.

new cds: bt - movement in still life; fuel - sunburn.

my music list is too long. :P forgot to mention that i stopped by the ferrets when i was done at walmart. sooo cute. they've got them in a multi level cage, and there are two brown ones and two white ones, a big one and a little one of each. the little brown one is all floppy and small. the little albino is fat, and seems to have learned to chew on/lick the other ferrets' ears from the big brown one, like a baby sucking its thumb. the big albino is a nasty biter, and is very adept at climbing the side of the wire cage. the little albino never gets more than a wire up before falling over. the big brown one is the cutest... very playful, and once you got her out of the cage, she didn't bite very much at all. and she poinged, lots. only she was on a tile floor, so she poinged and skidded. i took to teasing her with the end of my braid, and she'd fling herself off my knee at it. the store employee who was supervising is going to buy her soon, apparently. such a nice ferret. :)

hm. i really like several of the bt songs, and really could do without the rest of them. ::shrug:: oh, well. either i'll always skip them, or i'll grow into them.
i bought my cds, and then sat in the scifi section reading the v:tm book. i think i got about halfway through, but it's just reinforcing my desire to have a ravnos character posing as a gangrel. not that i know *why* said character would do this, but still.

going to make myself some tea and pin the gold now. talk to me, i want to be entertained. :P

i got the right fabric. and 'love on haight street', the last song on bt's album, won't play. i shall have to try it in the cd player, or see if it's just the computer. i have no clue what's wrong.
