Sep. 10th, 2001 06:16 pmthe t-lab meeting was at the same time as my only class today, so i dropped off my form early. hopefully nothing too exciting went on at the actual meeting.. i forgot to check back.
i got a letter from the college today that started, 'dear sophomore' and went on to say that now that i had 29 credits, i should think about declaring a major. first of all, i'm a junior. second, i had over 36 credits by the time i hit the beginning of sophomore year. third, i turned in my major declaration form at the end of last semester. i discovered upon checking with the registrar that it had, in fact, gotten lost in the void, and they had no record of it. so i got another form to fill out. and i can even put my minor on this one. i need to talk with bruce about what's involved in an independent study
class was very boring. i couldn't pay attention for more than three words in a row, because it didn't make any sense. i think the teacher speaks too vaguely to be logical. when she was taking roll, there were at least 8 names of people who'd dropped, if not more. it was pretty sad. also, she has this idea that biology has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with gender. that would only be true if gender had nothing to do with sex. and while gender and sex aren't the same thing, they're definitely related. she tried to say that while biology had nothing to do with gender and gender roles, women's roles were defined by their association with reproduction. since when is reproduction not biological? ::sigh::
and now i have to write a 4 page essay on 'art and fear' (4 chapters of a book) for acting, and 2 pages (i think. need more info) for gender/aesthetics. and be creative and draw for costume history. i can't figure out how to make fabric look poufy and full instead of thin and flimsy.
