mm, fencing. :) it was lots of fun. i fought single and dagger with thomas (who fought single and cane) and marcellus (who matched me), and epee with ragnar. thomas is so much fun to fight. :) and marcellus said the same about me. i wasn't moving so fast, though, and was still having range problems.
i had point control issues with epee because it was so light - i'd try to use too much force to move it. also, beats are much less effective.
there was a really fun fight when thomas and marcellus were doing small sword. they were out of off hands, and they got just inside range and went at it... it looked like a drill, it was so pretty. parry riposte all over the place.

bennigans afterwards was on crack as usual. i'm being caught up on the jokes that have developed.
also i might end up as camp slave. :P but the camp would pay my way to pennsic. :) and i'm still trying to convince people that i should be in charge of the lost and found. it's only natural, given as how one of the camp lessons is 'if you can't find something, check first with the gypsy.'

sylvie came over and we sewed. she felt very domestic - making dinner, driving people to work (or was it school?) and sewing. she ripped out seams for me, and now i have to unshred the fabric and resew the seams. woo. also have to do laundry and shower. must shower. why is it so late?

i get to see sylvie again tomorrow :) after getting my cavity filled. :( but i shall prevail, or something.

well, i got lots of sewing down. turning the yelek inside out and figuring out which bits go together no longer requires a degree in topology. i've got three more seams and the hem to do. optional is redoing the neckline, doing buttonholes, and sewing buttons on.

have to make dinner soon, and then we're going to see lord of the rings.

i agree lots. :)

just got back from the movie. a few notes:

the baby hobbits were soooo cute. it was the huge eyes, i'm sure.
whenever we saw isengard after the first time, i kept wincing... it was green! there were trees! ::sad::
when they were going indecisively into the caves of moria, i kept thinking, 'gee, it's a good thing there aren't any women in the group.' some of you will understand why. i couldn't stop giggling.
legolas = drool, even if he does have skinny legs. and nick looks like him. ::nod::

i kept thinking gimli was going to get killed, because he was too vigorous. and that peregrine took and whoever the other one was weren't going to die because then who would get the party in trouble? galadriel seemed creepy right from the start. and she made me think of some retelling of arthur, maybe it was by monty python - 'some watery tart throws a sword at you, and you think that makes you a king?' but no sword throwing.

the cave troll in moria reminded me of the mountain troll in harry potter.
also, i played a d&d/nethack type game when i was younger, called moria. now i know where the name came from. the other one i played was larn, but i don't know where that's from.
so, if hobbits are halflings, what are the halves? i should probably know already, but i don't.

also, legolas is yummy. or did i already say that? i like androgynous guys. :) ('are you saying i'm not a pretty guy?' - patrick, 10 things)
