(no subject)

apparently my cd player doesn't like the basement, as it wasn't working again when i tried to set the alarm last night. too damp, i guess.

yesterday we went shopping for wedding presents at bed bath and beyond, and stocked up on groceries i can eat without chewing. today, i got my wisdom teeth removed. mom tried to argue me out of general anesthetic based on the fact that her experience with it sucked, and it's a little dangerous. i'm glad i didn't let her - the room went wobbly, then i woke up in the recovery room thirsty as all hell. i've slept most of the day, i'm alternating vicodin and motrin for the pain (of which there hasn't been much), and my mouth is almost no longer numb. i occasionally taste blood (i probably took the gauze out earlier than i was supposed to) but other than that everything seems good. i've got another appointment in a week to check and make sure everything's going well, and to talk about both tmj and implants to replace my missing premolars.

while i only slept for about 3 hours last night, i've slept for almost all of the past 6. it was quite refreshing.

hopefully things won't start hurting tomorrow so much that i can't fence. also tomorrow i will hopefully be going dress shopping for the wedding, as all of my dress clothes are black and i don't have a hot pink pashmina shawl to brighten anything up with a la petit_chou.

has anyone been to these sushi restaurants? i want sushi for my birthday, but there aren't any around here that i've been to.
also, all sushi places serve miso, yes? mom needs something without much carbohydrates (ie less rice than sushi has).

and now.... ice cream! :)

maybe i could go to pennsic during the first week, if i can find someone with space who's leaving after i get back from cty. or i could go straight from cty. and then, i could take a few days off to visit with keith in pittsburgh. it's only $10 extra to go both weeks, i think....
this would be so much easier if cty would just get back to me. if i'm going to cty, i hope i'll have some free time - then i can work on my sewing. need to redo the buttons and loops on the gold yelek, and put buttonholes and buttons in the green one. i need to make a doublet and pants (which i need to find a pattern for). i'd like to make some mundane pants as well, out of batiste or something really light.

lower left side of my jaw aches. other than that, i have no complications from lack of teeth.
