various notes:

the violinist in one of the silk road ensemble pieces did that leaning forward and hunching over his violin thing, when he got into the music. he'd also move in time with the music. at one point, with the hunching over and rhythmic moving, he looked like a kitten trying to pounce on something.

the dc license plate motto is "taxation without representation". nooooo, they're not bitter.

fencing was good. we did drills which i don't entirely suck at, just mostly. and i fought a bunch of people, most of whom i can't remember. kaz was a visiting don from ansteorra, although he was woefully out of practice. i discovered that with a coupe, i could stick him every time. (unless my point control was off, of course.) (for those of you with some fencing knowledge who are nonetheless confused, a coupe is like a disengage only over the blade instead of under, and with a sharper movement. the blade has to be balanced right for it to work - smallswords and epees can do it, but not schlagers or del tins.)
alice cranked me in the arm, and i have a nice bruised welt from just above the elbow almost to the shoulder. not lalice, she's cool. this alice doesn't practice very often, and usually gets by on virtue of being penny (free scholar)'s sister.

thomas says that when i finally listen to what he's been telling me about controlling my opponent's blade, i will munch all my opponents and everyone will be scared. i sure hope it clicks soon, because that would be fun. i also worked on lateral movement instead of just the ninth parry (= retreating indefinitely, also known as cobb's traverse), but the most exciting thing was discovering the effectiveness of coupes on tall people.

then on the way home i decided that i was going to krispy kreme. so i did. mmm, donuts. for my birthday, no less! and if i liked slurpees, i'd probably go back out and get one for free. for my birthday.

just sayin'.
