(no subject)
Jul. 16th, 2002 12:13 amfeet itch. i hate having to wear shoes and socks all the time in the summer. and the footbed on my birkenstocks cracked all the way through, so i can't really put off getting them repaired now - wearing them will just give me blisters right under the ball of my foot.
i got my last workstudy paycheck today, so there's another $100 i'd forgotten i was going to get. maybe i can make it through the year after all. :) however, with the fencing gear i'll be picking up at pennsic, and the chest i bought, i'll be spending quite a bit on shipping stuff back to portland. the fencing club will pick up the tab for shipping the gear, at least. and that paycheck will probably go almost completely into fixing my birks.
but i have lambic. always good. and i have four sewing projects, one of which (oh please oh please) will be quick and easy. wednesday i'm getting supplies, hopefully they'll have what i need.
we got more satin in with the freight today... there are at least five fabrics that i really would like to make the glasgow dress out of, but of course they're all expensive, and i don't have time to make the dress anyway. i wonder if i could make it at nana's.... it would be great to wear to homecoming.
the fabrics are lavender, some sort of light blue, light green, silver/grey, and eggplant (which my store doesn't have in stock, but would be really striking), and a purply grey fabric that i think is taffeta... the kind that's like shiny grosgrain ribbon, not the stiff cheapo kind.
looks like there's a jo-ann's about 4 miles away from school. i wonder if it'd be easy to get a job there if i need one...
i still find it weird that joe from aurafice actually left for hawaii... i'm so used to being around the type of people who talk about doing that sort of thing, but never actually make it, whether through bad luck or insufficient motivation.
i have to take joel to his senior pics tomorrow. what fun. of course, i have to be at work shortly there after, so he might end up stranded at the school, but still. heh.
i would like lots of time and motivation and a sewing machine that doesn't hate me. please?
