Sep. 12th, 2003 05:49 pmwell, that was... exciting. my computer spontaneously rebooted, and stopped on the startup screen after displaying this:
primary master hard disk fail
primary slave hard disk fail
i turned white, logged on to aim express on the other computer, and panicked at stark. turned the computer off to try again. amazingly, it started up on the first try - apparently that problem has been fixed. however, i got the same message as the first time.
i tried to press f1 to continue, like it said, and realized that my fancy new keyboard doesn't have any lights (num lock/caps lock) to let me know if it's actually functioning or not. so i plugged in the other keyboard, pressed f1, and it went on to the next start up screen like normal. the abnormal part was where it said at the bottom, "boot drive sector fail. please insert system disk to continue".
so i panicked a little more, turned it off and back on again.... and it booted up like nothing had ever happened, and was on the windows startup screen before i knew what was going on.
I AM SO VERY CONFUSED. why does my computer torment me so?
