Oct. 22nd, 2005 11:00 pmgot a new vacuum cleaner that actually sucks, or doesn't, depending on how you look at it. sweet, sweet, functional appliances.
the chinchillas flooded their cage last night. they pulled their house onto the next shelf down, where it was pressed against the water bottle, opening the flow. all night. so very gross, especially since that was the shelf the old vacuum died on, so it hadn't been cleaned off recently. when i woke up in the morning, the water bottle was empty, the house was damp on the down side, and the shelf was almost overflowing. so angry with them.
got a new phone and new service. they are both awesome. i got a nokia 6822, which has a flip out full qwerty keyboard, and switched to tmobile - better signal, fewer minutes (i only use about 200 a month, max, and the minimum on cingular was way more than that and way more expensive), and unlimited wap access. very cool.
also, i tried on wedding dresses last weekend. that was a little surreal. now i just have to figure out if i can afford to have someone make the dress i want. ditto with the ring, although i might just put that off till the first anniversary - grey spinel, pseudo-tension-set in titanium. i'm doing better on that than the dress, though... there's only one place that'll make it (everyone else says, "titanium? no one works in titanium, and they certainly don't tension set in it.") so that eliminates the comparing prices thing.
what i'm looking for in the wedding dress:
charcoal/slate grey dupioni
sleeveless, worn with a corset
a-line
floor length, fuller in the back but with no train
wrapped overlay, similar to this but with a full length overlay
either a notched neckline, like this or possibly this, or a slightly dipped neckline, as seen here.
white seed pearls scattered at the neckline, black seed pearls scattered at the hem, densest at the edges and lighter towards the middle of the dress.
probably side closing, due to the wrapped overlay.
a jacket of some sort, but i don't know what. definitely not those silly shrug things that don't even reach the waist, though. i've seen mandarin collars and standing collars (in jessica mcclintock's "new victorian" line... can't find any pictures on the internet other than a tiny ad image) might look good with the dress's neckline.
