Yesterday was my last day at my first real job.

All my previous jobs have been part-time or seasonal. After a few false starts with short-lived temp jobs, I started working at Icom in the fall of 2003 in what was supposed to be a temporary position, filling in for someone on sick leave. Two and a half years later, I threatened to quit at the end of the month if they didn't hire me. So on the last day of April 2005, at 2pm, my managers finally brought me a job offer to sign.

Icom may have payed me crap, and the managerial antics and inability to understand simple guidelines may have driven me raving mad... but I kinda enjoyed being raving mad.

I'm at Microsoft now on a one year contract, for enough more money that if I don't work at all during my 100 day mandatory break, I will still come out of it with more in the bank than I would have staying at Icom.

Now I'm on my second real job... one step closer to being a grown up!
