well that didn't go very well. turns out i *did* have the sewing machine sleeve. and rachel agreed to drive because she didn't realize how far ft belvoir was from manassas, and then it rained horribly on the way back. i bought her sushi as compensation, and kerri serged my new blanket. she'll be coming over some time this week to drop off cat's shirts, at which point she'll help me sew. yay. hopefully she comes over when i'm home. not that i'm sure when that will be. maybe i should cancel the marrakesh trip, it would probably simplify things a lot. sorry, ali.

i need to go to michaels or something so i can find a short chain for my leaf blade and one of those ring resizer things for the ring my mom got me - it's just a bit too big.

oh dear gods, i need to pack tomorrow.

the drive back was really gorgeous, though. we took these twisty country roads bordered by huge trees, and there was fog sitting on the ground. and it smelled like rain. it reminded me of portland. :)
