Aug. 7th, 2002 04:51 pmmy sandals came in the mail today! i'm so happy, wearing shoes all the time whenever i needed to go anywhere was really annoying. and everything except the straps is new, so it's like having an all new pair of sandals! apparently they started with a different type of sole, but since i've been walking on little more than suede and some rubber for the past two years, even the same type of sole would be different.
everything except my suitcase is packed. i need to put velcro on my mask and hood, then i can start packing the suitcase - everything needs to be packed around the mask because it barely fits.
i went to g street after my oral surgeon appointment, and i am proud to say that i spent a grand total of $0.78. of course, as my mom pointed out, that was only because i didn't find what i was looking for. i'm going to finish the edges of the sari and bead the last yard of it instead of adding different fabric. hopefully it'll work.
projects that are still incomplete:
trunkhose (need to repleat one section and sew all of it down, then finish edges and add the fly and buttonholes)
yeleks (need to sew down loop tape on gold yelek front, and front and sleeves of green yelek, and then add/adjust buttons - vitha is bringing me more for the green yelek)
sari (finish edges and bead)
choli (figure out how to make the damn thing)
underskirt (just a matter of cutting it out and sewing it together, fortunately.)
mend piccadills on doublet
mask/hood (add velcro)
and i have stuff in the wash that i'll need to pack. most of the sewing projects will be shoved in my backpack, but i'd like to finish the yeleks and the sari edges today.
i guess that means i should start working, huh.
